Gladding Residence Center at VCU
Completed in 2018, the 12-story Gladding Residence Center at VCU is a sleek, 356,000-square-foot complex. Blending traditional materials with contemporary aesthetics, it has dramatically expanded the university’s housing capacity. This impressive facility was completed by a public private partnership team, including American Campus Communities, Clark Nexsen, Ayers Saint Gross and W.M. Jordan Company. The residence center achieved LEED Silver certification.
In May 2007, a tornado swept through the small town of Greensburg, Kansas, razing 95 percent of its structures, including the schools. Town officials committed to rebuilding “green.” The new two-story, 120,000-square-foot K-12 Kiowa County School is LEED Platinum certified, and officials hope it will become a regional educational model. Greensburg is also now one of the world’s leading communities in LEED-certified buildings per capita.
This new 68-acre Hill East District waterfront neighborhood features two mixed-use buildings on the north and south edges of C Street. With 340-plus residential units and more than 30,000 SF of retail space, this project is revitalizing the area around the metro station at C and 19th streets. Residential amenities include communal spaces with interior courtyards, a business and fitness center and rooftop party rooms.
This facility manufactures high purity acids, solvents and other wet chemicals used to etch and clean silicon wafers in the production of semiconductors. An on-site 100,000-square-foot, temperature-controlled warehouse maintains material storage integrity. To provide excellent coverage for this important inventory, Jewett Roofing constructed the roof using 260,000 square feet of DEXcell® FA Glass Mat Roof Board.
