Social impact priorities
At National Gypsum Company, social impact is aligned around our business purpose of Building Products for a Better Future®.
We build better futures by supporting organizations that build stronger communities, with an emphasis on educational excellence and equity. As part of Giving Tuesday 2021, National Gypsum donated $1 million to support community service and education efforts in 35 locations where our affiliates have facilities.
Through our family of companies and the C. D. Spangler Foundation, we collaborate with the Business Roundtable, the Charlotte Executive Leadership Council, business leaders, and the public sector to increase quality, accessibility and affordability across the continuum of educational opportunity.
Working for the greater good
We’re proud to be considered an essential business. No matter the challenges, our partners depend on us to support healthcare infrastructure, homebuilding and commercial development in all 50 states and Canada. It is a responsibility we take seriously. We play a vital role in the North American economy, and we demonstrate every day that we are a team player our communities can count on.
Taking care of each other
Our family of companies employs a diverse team of 2,500 associates in 19 states and two Canadian provinces comprised of new talent and seasoned professionals, with 20% joining since 2019 and an overall average tenure of 15 years. We like to say, come for a job, stay for a career. We invest in our associates’ growth, safety, and satisfaction. Customer service, quality and sustainability are our highest priorities, which breeds pride.
We are also there for each other in tough times. When Hurricane Ida struck Louisiana in 2021, we raised over $70,000 through the NGCares Disaster Relief Fund to offset the financial hardships of our associates in Westwego, Louisiana.
