Education is at the Core of Our Services

College students will soon be graduating, and many will join architectural firms like yours. So, this a good time to remind you National Gypsum is also a great educational resource for your new hires and emerging professionals.

In recent issues of OnBoard, we provided detailed information about fire- and sound-rated assemblies to help select appropriate solutions for your toughest project requirements. And these are only two of the many topics we cover through continuing education – topics that can help train your newest employees while also keeping experienced staff updated on changes and enhancements.

Explore National Gypsum’s Continuing Education program

National Gypsum’s Continuing Education (CE) courses are fresh, relevant and developed with your project and code requirements in mind. These free AIA-approved courses help strengthen your knowledge while earning required credits. Through National Gypsum’s Building Knowledge Together® program, all on-site and online courses meet AIA’s CE Standards for health, safety and welfare (HSW).

According to Amy Hockett, National Gypsum’s Manager of Architectural Services & Sustainability, “When we submit a course to AIA for HSW approval, we are required to include justification of how our content specifically addresses the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the built environment.” With a variety of AIA HSW programs available, participants can select topics related to product application, technical standards and industry trends.

Schedule an in-house educational session

But wait, we don’t stop there – and this may be the best part. In addition to Continuing Education courses, our seasoned construction design managers can visit your office and provide one-on-one meetings that spark questions and answers and facilitate collective knowledge. They can expand upon and dive deeper into the subjects you’ve read about in OnBoard. These subjects include UL designs, STC ratings, indoor air quality and the five levels of finish, just to name a few. When all your associates are learning together, there’s a synergy that inspires everyone to more fully participate as project problem-solvers.

Your trusted regional construction design manager can also offer specification reviews and product knowledge sessions about high-performance gypsum board, cement board, roof coverboard and drywall finishing products (from National Gypsum’s affiliate companies: Gold Bond® Building Products, PermaBASE® Building Products and ProForm® Finishing Products). Our construction design managers are not only technically savvy but also professional and pleasant to meet with in person.

“One of the advantages of our AIA-approved presentations is that we provide hard copies of National Gypsum’s technical books. These books are highly sought after and always appreciated. The PURPLE Book® covers fire-rated assemblies in commercial construction, The Wood Book™ includes fire-rated assemblies in wood-framed construction and The SoundBook® provides STC-tested assemblies for both wood and steel construction. The 15th edition of the NGC Construction Guide™ contains essential product information, installation instructions and technical guidance. So, why not schedule a presentation with your construction design manager today?”

“One of the key benefits we see with the return of in-person AIA Lunch N Learns is the free-flowing conversation around design and function. Our presentations focus on a specific need that each one of your projects will have. Discussing your current project concerns during and after the presentation is invaluable. The National Gypsum team looks forward to being one of your trusted advisors.”
