Steps for installation:

  1. At the base of the veneer installation location install weep screed per manufacturer specifications.
  2. Install weather resistive barrier in accordance with local codes.
  3. Install PermaBASE with cement board screws or hot dipped galvanized roofing nails spaced eight inches on center along the perimeter and in the field.
  4. Stagger the joints in the PermaBASE from joints in the sheathing. Also, stagger any vertical joints in the PermaBASE.
  5. Treat joints in PermaBASE with four-inch-wide alkali resistant fiberglass mesh tape set in modified mortar.
  6. Apply modified mortar to the PermaBASE per manufacturers recommendations.
  7. Install the thin veneer according to manufactures specifications.
  8. A final application of pointing mortar over the finish joints will complete the installation.
