National Gypsum Company Patents GridMarX®
“X” marks the spot. It’s official: National Gypsum Company received a United States patent for its revolutionary GridMarX® Wallboard, a product that has also made life easier for drywall installers across the country.
Blue Xs and dashes on the face paper of GridMarX® make it faster and easier for drywall installers to fasten wallboard to the framing behind it. It was the industry’s first wallboard with a printed fastening guide, introduced in 2003. Since then, nearly all NGC wallboard products feature the trademark GridMarX®.
An NGC team of Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering and R&D professionals developed the process that accurately prints Xs and dashes on the wallboard at all National Gypsum plants.
