National Gypsum honors designers with the first ever Rock Awards
National Gypsum has announced the inaugural winners of The 2005 Rock Award, honoring
the architectural industry’s top professionals for overall design excellence and
innovative use of National Gypsum’s specialty products.
The winners were announced on May 19, 2005 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in
Las Vegas, Nev.
“We at National Gypsum seek to be the best in our industry by offering quality products
and service to our customers,” said David Drummond, National Gypsum director of
marketing. “We are proud to recognize and honor architects and design professionals
who share the same dedication and passion for their design work.”
The recipients of this year’s inaugural Rock Award included Alliance Architecture
of Annapolis, Md., who won in the Institutional Category for its use of National
Gypsum’s High Flex Wallboard in the design of the new office space for the Boult,
Cummings, Conners & Berry law firm in Nashville, Tenn.
“MacLachlan, Cornelius & Filoni Architects of Pittsburgh, Pa. was recognized

application and overall design excellence with use of National Gypsum specialty
products. Each winning design team was awarded a cash prize of $1,500, a specially
commissioned sculpture made of the finest white alabaster found in National Gypsum’s
